IDA Ireland announces new appointment to Executive Leadership Team

IDA Ireland has today announced the appointment of Dr Matt Kennedy as the organisation’s new Head of Client Transformation.    

Matt brings over 20 years experience of leadership and governance to the role, having led transformation initiatives with international business to drive competitiveness and enhance productivity by embedding sustainability and digital solutions. 

He joins IDA from Arup where he held the position of European Sustainable Development & Global Climate Strategy Leader, with previous experience from International Climate Consultancy, Tyndall National Institute and SEAI. Matt was lead EU negotiator at the Paris Agreement climate negotiations (COP21) and previously Chair of the UN Climate Technology Centre.   

Speaking of the appointment Michael Lohan, CEO of IDA Ireland said: "I am very pleased to welcome Matt Kennedy to IDA’s Executive Leadership team. Matt brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the organisation which will see him lead a dynamic team to deliver transformational initiatives to enhance Ireland's value proposition enabling the companies with whom IDA partners to strengthen and grow. Bio Matt Kennedy:
Matt holds a PhD in Sustainable Energy and Environmental Engineering. In addition to his PhD Matt also holds a Masters in Business Administration and a Masters of Arts (Development). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA), a Chartered Environmentalist and is an experienced independent non-executive Director.
