Dundalk with a population of 29,037 (2006 Census) is the administrative capital of County Louth. Located strategically midway between Dublin (80 kms/50mls) and Belfast (80 kms/50mls), the town benefits from pivotal services including rail, road, telecommunications and port access. Within the immediate environs (20kms/12mls) of the town there is a population of 110,750 over 50% of which is in the 24-65 age cohort.

The town has direct access (45 minutes) via the M1 motorway to Dublin International Airport – Ireland’s largest - with a throughput of more than 20.5 million passengers annually. Belfast International and Belfast City airports are within circa one hours reach.

Dundalk Institute of Technology has its campus near the town centre. The Institute provides courses in Business, Engineering, Computing, Science and Creative Media to certificate, degree and post graduate level. Its student population is circa 5,000. Drogheda has a population of 28,973 (2006 Census). Cavan with a population of 3,934 (2006 Census) is the administrative capital of County Cavan. Within a 20kms (12 miles) of the town there is a population of 42,914. The town is located on the N3, within 115kms (70 miles) of Dublin and 134kms (80 miles) of Belfast. Cavan is within 70 minutes commuting time of Dublin International Airport.

The Quinn Group is a multi-facetted indigenous operation within County Cavan engaged in manufacturing and financial service activities. Quinn Direct employs over 550 people in its underwriting activities in Cavan town.

Cavan has been designated a hub for development in Ireland’s National Spatial Strategy. The town provides access to some of Ireland’s and indeed Europe’s best trout and coarse fishing in the abundant fresh water lakes within easy reach of the town.
